Why did people become financial planning clients in 2024?

I ran a report to show me all of our new clients last year. 

And more importantly to review: what did they initially need to make them get in touch?

(As in, what did they really need?)

This year two reasons stood out.

And to be fair - it’s the same two which are always right up there.

  • “To make sure that we are doing the right things with our money now… so that we will be OK in the future”
  • “To make sure that we leave as much to our children as possible”

Of course, we've also had conversations regarding asset allocation, whether annuities were a good idea, ways to reduce Corporation Tax, and retirement strategies to name a few. 

But subtle variations of these two reasons came up over and over again.

  • Because most people want to ensure that they live a good life.
  • And leave as much of what’s left over to the people they love.

Sounds pretty simple when you read it like that.
